Today I took my dog to the park in my village.
The park is somewhere were when I was young, I would find myself in almost every day. My lower school is right beside it and in the summer after school, me and my sister (if we were good) would often get taken there to play.
But when I moved up to middle school, in the village next along. I didn't have the time after to go and play and I guess as I got older, it wasn't the cool place to hang out anymore.
Until today, I hadn't been down here in years. I remember coming back once or twice with my cousins, but it never had the same magical feeling that it used to when I was young.
I remember playing with my friends, making dens and playing in and out the trees, using our imagination to create houses and playing 'Mums and Dads' or picking flowers for my mum to give to her at the end of the day.
Although as I got older, on the rare occasion I would visit, the place lost its magic as every time I came, it was just filled with gangs of scary weed smoking teenagers and big dogs which look like they could eat 3 children in one bite.
So I just stopped visiting.....Until today!
Today the sun was shining, there was a gentle warm breeze and the school children were all in the playground laughing and having fun. It felt just like the old days.
I walked round with the dog feeling all nostalgic as I explored all the places which I played in during my lower school days.
I must admit I did feel really old when the plants that has been planted back in 2002 were full grown trees now. Me and my friends used to have a competition to see who could jump over bushes, something tells me no-one would be able to do that now, haha.
I also loved how happy my dog was down there. I had never taken him down here before and had always been over the fields in the next village along with my friends and their dogs.
He ran about and was really enjoying himself, he kept running back to me every now and then and jumping up at me and licking my hands.
He's such a lil' cutie, aww.
