Reading Festival 2015

WOOOOOOWWWW!......WHAT A DAY! My back aches, my neck aches, my legs are sore, I'm covered in bruises, but was it worth it? YES!
This year I had my first taste of the Reading Festival experience and I couldn't of enjoyed it more.
My friend and I travelled down to Reading on the train on the Friday. We brought day tickets for the Friday only because we weren't that bothered about the Saturday and Sunday line-up and we didn't think we were quite ready for the whole weekend along with camping. Now I think about it, I'm glad we didn't stay the whole weekend because after one day, I was absolutely shattered. I'm not really much of a camping person anyway and no way could I afford the £200.
But that one day was just enough and like I said, it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had.
We travelled down to Kings Cross and from there we got a tube to Paddington station where we got the 11:33 train to Reading.
We arrived around 12 and from the station we joined the queue and got the shuttle bus to the festival for the small price of £1. Pretty good I thought! :D
Once we arrived and walked round to the entrance, got our wristbands and had our bags checked, we met up with our other 2 friends at the entrance and went off to enjoy the day!
We first headed off to Main Stage as Neck Deep were playing. I had never been into Neck Deep much before until I saw them at Slam Dunk Festival back in May. For me, Neck Deep are one of those bands that you need to see live to really get into them. I never used to be that bothered about them until I saw them live but now if they are ever part of the line up at a festival, I always make sure I go watch. They always put on a brilliant show!
After Neck Deep's set has ended a lot of the crowd sort of dispersed and we managed to weave our way to towards the front. We ended up about 6 people from the barrier. We seem to have a habit of ending up at the front xD
Me and my friends are quite big Panic! At The Disco fans so we kept our position until their set. In that time, bands called Drenge and The Palma Violets played. Drenge wasn't much my type neither were The Palma Violets however for me, it was them who put on the better performance.
One of the most important aspects to putting on a good show, is for the band themselves to enjoy performing and it was clear that The Palma Violets were having a good time which made their performance really stand out and I really enjoyed their set.
During the 20 minute break in-between the end of The Palma Violets set and the start of the Panic! set, 'Sugar We're Going Down' by Fall Out Boy was played over the speakers and the whole crowd was singing along and it was such a lovely atmosphere. It makes me feel all happy thinking back to it now.
When the Panic! set began, the whole crowd was buzzing with excitement awaiting for Brendon Urie, the man himself to take the stage. When he ran out the crowd went wild as he strutted around in his leather trousers and sparkly blazer. I already knew this was gunna be a great show.
Unfortunately, I had to leave the Panic! set early in order to reach the NME/BBC Radio 1 tent for my faves, but from what I saw from their set, it was amazing! Performing some of my favourite Panic! At The Disco songs 'The Ballad Of Mona Lisa', 'Nicotine', 'Girls/Girls/Boys', 'Vegas Lights' and 'This Is Gospel'. The also played 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which was absolutely jaw dropping and overall was an excellent set from what I saw.

As we made our way over to the NME/BBC Radio 1 tent, I was just filled with instant excitement over seeing Don Broco again even though its been less than a month since I last saw them. They are my all-time fav.
Now I don't even know where to begin with their set. It was perfect, as always. I've even rewatched the entire set on BBC Radio 1 iplayer that's how much I loved it. As I'm sure I said before when talking about the Bedford Esquires show back on the 6th, I love the atmosphere their is within the Broco crowd and everybody has an amazing time.
One thing I especially loved about this show was this cool lil mash up they did with some songs. They began playing 'Whole Truth' and just before Bobby should of started singing, they stopped and began to play 'Thug Workout'. If you are unfamiliar with this song, I strongly suggest you go YouTube it right now. Even though it one of their oldest songs, it's one of the best to see live. It's so crazy!
As they were coming towards the end of 'Thug Workout', they switched song again and performed a cover of 'Trap Queen' by Fetty Wap. This was incredible and the song really suited Bobby's voice even though they aren't an R&B band which was awesome.
Another thing which was really special to me about this set was that we ended up in the pit which is totally unlike us. We usually keep to the sides or are holding onto the barrier for dear life. The last place we usually wanna be is in the Broco pit. But this time, we didn't care. All 3 of us went in linking arms and went crazy. It was definitely an unforgettable experience.
They ended the set with 'You Wanna Know' and I didn't want it to end. As soon as they left the stage, I just wanted to do it all other again. I guess I will have to wait til the show at Brixton :/
Now I was kinda bummed out how All Time Low and Don Broco's sets overlapped but I'm so glad that I went to see Don Broco because it was such as enjoyable experience and the band themselves, looked like they had such an amazing time and Bobby said out of all the times they have played Reading, this one was his all time favourite. Aww :")
So after Broco's set we were pretty dead so we sat around for a while, got some food and chilled. Festival food is well expensive, it cost me £2.50 for a small bottle of water and i think it was like £3.50 for some curly fries and cheese. They were well nice though. But to be honest, I would rather pay the price rather than not eat or drink all day. It was a pretty hot day aswell, I even got sunburnt.
We sat around the NME/BBC Radio 1 stage for a while then went to watch Bastille at main stage.
After Bastilles set we walked back to the NME/BBC Radio 1 tent for Limp Biskit.
Limp Biskit's set was really good but it was a shame I didn't enjoy it more as I was having a bit of a mini freak out and was super exhausted by then.
After Limp Biskit we went and sat around the tent where New Found Glory were playing and sat and listened and chatted and messed about until Mumford and Sons finished them it was time to go.
We said goodbye to our friends then we both made our way back towards the train station where our parents were picking us up.
Reading Festival was a really good day and is definetly one of my favourite festivals this year. Maybe one day I will have a go at the entire weekend..... Just when I'm more prepared and richer. Maybe stay at a hotel....but then I feel like I'm cheating a bit....mmmmhh maybe next year xD

If you went to Reading this year, who was your favourite band to see? I would love to know in the comments!
