Havoc Fest, 9/8/15

On the 9th August, Fearless Vampire Killers Hosted their own festival 'Havoc Festival' at the Dome in Tufnell Park, London.

I first saw Fearless Vampire Killers supporting Black Veil Brides on the Black Mass Tour last october and ever since they left that stage, I have been in love with them. For me, they are one of those bands you will see once, then theres no going back, you have to see them over and over again. So whenever theres a Fearless Vampire Killers show in London, its 100% likely I'm somewhere there in the crowd.
I have to admit I didn't know many of the bands in the line up for Havoc fest. I knew and had seen Myth City before from when they supported FVK on the Unbreakable Hearts tour. I had also heard of Zoax but had never seen them because the date I saw FVK on the UH tour had Myth City and Annisokay as support, whereas Zoax were support on other dates on that tour.
The rest of the line up I had no clue about.

When me and my friend arrived at the venue, I felt instantly welcomed by the other fans, which is something I really love about the Lost Hearts. Everyone seems to know each other and is so kind and looks out for one and another.

When we were let in the venue, we headed straight to the stage as the first band would be starting soon. We were one row from the front of the stage and managed to stay there the entire day which was really good.

First up was Ashes, who like I said I had never heard of but their set was great and I really enjoyed their performance and it was a perfect way to start the day.

Next up was Myth City who I had already seen on the Unbreakable Hearts tour in May so I already knew they were a good band and I knew a load of their songs already. My favourites being 'The Vendetta' and 'Man Down' which they performed (yayy :D). Overall Myth City were amazing as always and they had a really entertaining set.

Now I will admit I don't quite remember the order of the bands set from here but I do remember Villians set being very entertaining, as was Forever Never. They are both very talented bands.
Now I do remember one band had technical difficulties with the lead singers gutair (I think this was Hindslotts). I must admit they weren't really my type but I do repsect them for continuing even though they had obvious difficulties.

Now I do remember alot about the Allusondrugs set. Again they weren't really my type but I remember watching the set feeling shocked over how off his head the lead singer Kurt Kobain wannabe was. He seemed to stagger about cluelessly until he actually smacked his head on the microphone and bumped into the other band members on more than one occassion.
But overall, quite an enteraining set.

Now I do remember loads about Zoax's set. I was blown away by how amazing they are having never seen them live before. The singer got down from the stage and had the whole crowd jumping and covered us all in Talcum powder which sounds odd but at the time was amazing. It was clear everyone in the crowd was having a good time. The singer actually began the set in an all black outfit but left head to toe in white from all the Talcum powder and was also slighty sparkly, someone had a pot of glitter in the crowd.
Other than FVK, I would of said Zoax's performance was my favourite of the day.

I also just looked up at the line-up and I forgot to mention earlier, it was announced that Glamour Of The Kill had unfortunalty parted ways and were no longer playing as part of the Havoc line up.

When FVK took the stage, everyone was instantly blown away by the amazing band that they are. Starting off with 'Neon In The Dance Halls' everyone was jumping and going crazy which is something I really love about FVK shows.
I love the way FVK connect with their fans while performing.
FVK also performed new soon to be released singles 'Braindead' and 'Danger' which I had never seen live before and they were both amazing. They also sang some of my favourites 'In Wondrous Rage','Could We Burn Darling' and 'All Hallows Evil' and as always their performance was perfect.
Once again, I almost cried during 'City Falls To Dust', that song just hits me right in the feels.... 'You'll be here in my blood, till the day I die' :")
And it especially gets me when the whole crowd is singing with Laurence, 'Got me waiting, no don't keep me waiting' and I just stand there wallowing in mushy feels about how lovely it all is.
FVK ended a once again brilliant set with a cover of 'I need a hero' which made a perfect ending to a perfect show.

After the show, as always FVK came out to meet all the fans and for once I managed to meet them all in one night and everyone was super lovely.

So overall, Havoc Festival was a huge success and I really enjoyed the day. I can't wait until next time!

Don Broco, Bedord Esquires 6/8/15

Those of you who know me well, will know I'm a big Broco fan, having already seen them headline the Kerrang tour and perform at Slam Dunk Festival earlier this year.

The boys had their new album 'Automatic' (which is a cracking album I must say) finally out on the 7th and they had put together a mini album release tour, which of course I had to go to.
Me and some friends got tickets for the Bedford show at Esquires as we live around the Bedford area and I guess we felt sort of nostalgic being able to be back there since Esquires was the first venue we ever saw Broco perform at.

So on the 6th we got the bus out into Bedford and arrived about 3ish, from there we grabbed a few drinks out of Iceland and hurried off to the venue where we thought the queues were gunna be huge since we are used to queuing extremely early for decent spots at gigs. (We queued 8 hours for the Kerrang Tour and were at the barrier).
However we misjudged the amount of people who were gunna be there so so bad as not a person was there.....except Si, Matt and the support bands who were unloading kit and all their magical music things.
Luckily queuing for 4 and a bit hours wasn't too bad as we had lovely chat with Si and Matt on arrival and later Tom when he arrived.
People always look at me crazy when I tell them how long I queue for gigs but when really its not even that bad and can actually be quite fun. Especially if the band comes out and its easy to make friends with other fans around you as you obviously have a matching interest otherwise they wouldn't be queuing outside the venue in the first place.
Plus the earlier you wait, the closer you are to the front ;)

So once we were in there, we were on the barrier again (yay :3), this time we stood Tom's side as we were Si's side for Slam Dunk (we take turns on who's side to be on every time we see them).

Before the Broco boys took the stage, there were 2 support bands, one I believe was called No Moments but don't quote me on that and the other was Light You Up, who were both very entertaining and talented bands (there's nothing worse than a terrible support band). But yes, both their sets were brill.

So now was just to wait for Broco to take the stage which felt like forever but everyone was excited and there was a real buzzing atmosphere about the room. However I think part of it was also a lot of us swooning over Bobby who was getting changed behind the stage doors which had windows.... I don't think he realised haha xD

When the boys finally took the stage, they started off with 'Money Power Fame' to get the crowd going and omg the crowd was crazy and the energy was huge!

Their performance, stage presence and interaction with the crowd was brilliant as always, I got at least 5 high fives from Tom and my friend got a bro hug off of Bobby. Fans were allowed to even crowd surf to the front and party on stage then jump into the crowd again and it was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves without being dragged away by security.
Another thing which I thought was awesome was during 'Thug workout', Bobby got a human pyramid going on and they managed to get 3 of them up. I love the way Don Broco interact with their audience and its what makes the Broco shows extra special.
As for the actual set itself, they had the perfect balance of old and new songs. I will insert the set list at the end of the post.

Overall, the whole show was amazing and it couldn't have gone better. This will defiantly go down as one of my favourite gigs ever.

So after the show, the boys returned to the stage and everybody counted down until midnight when 'Automatic' would be released and it was all so lovely and kinda reminded me of new year. Champagne got sprayed everywhere and we were given party poppers. I actually filmed the countdown and I will leave a link at the bottom.

After the countdown, the guys came out and took pictures, chatted and signed things for fans. I had already pre-ordered the signed deluxe album so instead of buying the album for them to sign there, I got them to sign my vans, after all Bobby said he would sign anything xD

So overall the day was fantastic and it was the best I have seen Don Broco perform and it will be a day I will always remember as one of the best gigs ever.

I'm gunna leave some of the photos I got with them and the show itself below but I also have more on my instagram which is alicimo1102 if you would like to follow me on there.

Welcome To My Blog

Hi there! I'm Alice and welcome to Life With Alicimo.

Since this is my first ever Blog post, I thought I would tell you all what Life With Alicimo is all about...

First up is FASHION
Ever since I was young, I have loved Fashion. While most children in my classes wanted to be teachers and policeman, I always wanted to be  a fashion designer and I spent a lot of my time as a child drawing different items of clothing on animals as well as people (I know, strange xD).

So yes, Fashion is something I will defiantly be blogging about.
I wouldn't quite know how to describe my style other than all black with dark purple Doc Martin boots.
I wouldn't describe myself as a goth or punk however these styles interest me also.

Next up is MUSIC
I go to a lot of gigs and concerts (I've been to 7 this year already, oopsies).
I love bands especially and my top 2 favourites are Don Broco and Fearless Vampire Killers.
I'm into a lot of genres like pop-punk, punk-rock, alternative rock, metal and the list goes on.
So Music wise, I will be blogging about the gigs I go to, reviews of albums and just general ramblings about bands.

Another is TEXTILES
I am currently studying A-Level Textiles and I got a B grade at GCSE. I really enjoy making textiles things whether its a pillow or a dress and hopefully I can share quick and easy ways with you guys about how to make your own textiles products.
I'm about to make a skater skirt actually so stay tuned for that. :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, finally another topic I will be blogging about is just anything about what I'm up to or where I've been or anything I think would be nice to share with you all.

So yes, these will be the things I will be blogging about and I hope you enjoy future posts. If you have read to here, well done and thank you and I hope I haven't been too much of a bore and feel free to visit my blog soon.

New posts shall be up soon! :)
